About Us
Founded in 2012, S|A Maraia Charities supports local children's charities in the Greater New England area.
Our Story
In a six week span during 2012, we lost my two brothers, Stephen and Albert. Family and friends formed S|A Maraia Charities to benefit children in their names. Thanks to your support, last year we successfully raised funds to open Camp Sunshine’s new waterfront pavilion and family game room – forever known as the Stephen & Albert Maraia Lounge.
Today we are proud to partner with organizations like Camp Sunshine. They inspire hope in families affected by life-threatening childhood illness through unique and supportive program at their beautiful campus on Maine’s Sebago Lake.
When a child faces serious illness, the entire family is impacted. Camp Sunshine’s mission is to provide respite and support to each family member - children, siblings, and parents. Since its inception, Camp Sunshine has offered comfort, hope, and support to over 50,000 individuals from all 50 states and 27 countries.
"Words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you a million times over –– our lives are bettered and enriched by your generosity."
Our Mission
Since its founding, S|A Maraia Charities has produced charitable events honoring our brothers, Stephen A. and Albert A. Maraia Jr.
Stephen and Albert were always so full of life, love and generosity. Our mission is to continue their family legacy by annually raising money for much-deserving kids and charitable causes.
Our Vision
S|A Maraia Charities supports organizations like Camp Sunshine, offering much-needed comfort, hope and support to children and their families.
Camp Sunshine provides retreats combining respite, recreation, and support –– while enabling hope and promoting joy, for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families through the various stages of a child’s illness.
Camp Sunshine's program is offered year-round, and has the distinction of having been designed to serve the entire family in a retreat model. The program is free of charge to families and includes on-site medical and psychosocial support.
